RESUMO
El incremento de la morbimortalidad por asma y el manejo del paciente asmático representan problemas difíciles en la medicina moderna, esto fue el motivo para realizar un trabajo de revisión, con el objetivo de abordar aspectos relacionados con la aplicación de la auriculoterapia en el tratamiento de esta enfermedad, así como esclarecer los posibles efectos beneficiosos de esta modalidad terapéutica en la misma. Se concluye que el efecto corrector de la auriculoterapia sobre el asma se explica a través de mecanismos neurológicos, humorales, bioeléctricos e inmunológicos que producen broncodilatación, inmunomodulación y respuesta antiinflamatoria. Entre los puntos de la auriculopuntura más utilizados en el tratamiento del asma se incluyen a: shen men, simpático, asma y Ding chuan auricular. Se hacen algunas consideraciones sobre el tema(AU)
The increase of morbidity and mortality due to bronchial asthma and the handling of asthmatic patients constitute difficult problems for modern medicine. This led to carry out a revision research study with the aim of dealing with some aspects related to the application of ear acupuncture for the treatment of this disease, as well as to elucidate the possible beneficial effects of this therapeutic method. It was concluded that: the corrective effect of ear acupuncture on asthma is explained through neurological, humoral, bioelectric and immunologic mechanisms that act as bronchodilator, and produce immune-modulation and antiinflammatory response. Among the most used ear acupuncture points, there are: shen men, sympathetic, asthma and auricular Ding chuan. Some considerations about the topic are carried out in this work(AU)
